Entirely hand crafted earrings featuring a large smooth bead of stabilised chalk turquoise on a long drop of wrapped antiqued copper wire.
The long drop of wrapped wire is spiralled above and below each bead, making a matching pair of hand wrapped bead caps.
The copper has been antiqued to co-ordinate with the brown tones of the matrix within the stones and to bring out the texture of the wire wrapping. You could also have them fully oxidised to a gunmetal finish black on request. Please see the Related Products section below for an example of that finish.
The beads are made from stablilised natural chalk turquoise, which I understand to be a composite bead from natural chalks associated with turquoise mining, but pressed together within a resin base and then dyed.
They hang from my hand crafted 'large classic' earwires, which have been hammered and tumbled for strength and the ends rounded for your comfort. The earrings hang 41mm (1.6") overall and the beads are 14mm (>½") in diameter.
