Purple agate kite pendant with petal beadcap and wrapped bail

A striking kite shaped pendant in a lovely delicate purple with a patterned petal bead cap and wire wrapped bail.

I decided that this lovely kite shaped piece of purple agate (which has been dyed this colour) didn't need much more than something decorative to hang it from the chain.  So I capped it with a four petalled textured flower cap which leads to a wire wrapped bail loop to hang it from the chunky solid copper belcher chain.  The semi precious stone features lovely marbling and swirly patterns and does have a few rough patches of surface texture on the right hand side, as is often the case with natural pieces of this type.

The 'poppy' cap was made by me from copper clay, with a hand drawn texture plate specifically for it.  I can't claim that this shape is my own idea, I used the basic concept from my on-line friend and talented fellow jewellery maker Keirsten Giles and her tutorial for Happy Mango Beads and offer it with her permission.

The pendant drops 58mm (2¼") overall from the copper belcher chain and is 38mm (1½") at its widest.   The chain fastens with my own hook and loop clasp and will be supplied 18" (460mm) in length by default, but if you'd like a different length (up to 30" within this price), please let me know in the comment box during checkout and I'll make it up to your requirements.  I think it would work well on a longer chain, hence I chose to partner it with a heavier gauge of chain for this design.

Please note that as chains are made to order for each customer, they are polished to match the pendant, where the ones used in photographs are 'prop' chains that don't necessarily match as well, as they are used for more than one design
