This necklace set is very much a fun party piece that can be worn for the holiday season, but isn't intended to last as a family heirloom.
I bought these rocks on a long garland intended as a Christmas decoration and I bought it to take apart for an idea I had for something different myself. I did not buy them to make jewellery and they're not intended for wearing - so they haven't been made to the necessary standards for jewellery, the edges are a little rough.
But I thought they looked like great fun as a party piece - they look like pieces of chipped ice and I couldn't stop playing with them, so wanted to see how they'd work as a necklace.
The work has been done to my usual standards, but the materials are less expensive and this is reflected in the price.
The necklace measures 420mm (16½") overall and is intended to be worn at choker length. The central section of icy rocks (which are either plastic or resin), each separated by a huge silver lined seed bead, measures 140mm (5½") in the centre of the silver plated chain which fastens with a lobster clasp.
The earrings each feature 3 smaller icy rocks and silver coloured seed beads, hanging 65mm (2½") overall from the top of the hand formed earwires.
N.B. The actual set illustrated has sold, but another can be made to order, so there will be a little variation from the one shown, due to the irregular shapes of the 'rocks'.
