Antiqued copper earrings featuring a rectangular panel etched with my own design of a random geometric pattern. The earrings hang from hammered scrolled earwires, allowing the panels of the earrings to move freely.
I have recently rediscovered my love of copper etching, using a salt water technique and these rectangular earrings feature a random pattern that I drew myself digitally using vector drawing software and used this to create a design resist/mask for the etching process. You can read more about the process used for these earrings in my blog.
The copper sheet used for the etch was quite thin, so the earrings will be very light to wear, but this also means that they require a little care as the panels will potentially bend with force applied. The earrings have been antiqued to enhance the textures of the design and they hang from scrolled earwires to allow the earrings to move freely.
The earrings hang 58mm (2¼") overall from the top of the earwires and they are 17mm (0.65") in width.
