Antiqued copper and Carnelian twisted link earrings

Entirely hand crafted earrings featuring links of antiqued, twisted and hammered copper, decorated with a drop of the most gorgeous deep orange Carnelian beads.

The central portion of the earrings was made by twisting a soldered loop of copper and leaving an eye at each end, which are hammered quite thin and the edges rounded and polished to make them smooth to the touch.

The earrings hang on hand crafted earwires from the top eye and the bottom one is used to hang a Carnelian drop. Each large bead is wrapped onto one of my own hammered paddle headpins, with an additional spiral wrap to top the beads. The beads are a gorgeous translucent deep orangey red, with whispy dark inclusions like swirls of smoke.

The earrings have been oxidised and then just the proud edges hand polished to bring out the shine of the copper against the warm dark tones of the antiquing.

The earrings hang 60mm (2.35") overall from the top of the straight drop earwires and each bead is approximately 9mm (0.35") in diameter.
