Antiqued copper and amethyst rope earrings

Antiqued copper earrings featuring substantial faceted amethysts of a gorgeous deep purple, resting beneath a short section of tightly hand coiled spiral rope of fine copper wire.

These earrings are entirely hand crafted, I made everything myself other than the beads. Each amethyst is shouldered by chunky copper rings to seat the rope sections.

There are many feet of wire tightly hand spiralled in the wire rope and they have been antiqued to enhance the texture of the spiral sections. I've assembled the earrings on heavy weight eye pins, hammered and polished, to co-ordinate with the matching necklace.

The earrings hang 50mm (2") overall from the top of my own hand crafted large classic earwires. The faceted amethyst beads are 12mm (½") in diameter.

These earrings (and the matching necklace) have been sold and unlikely to be re-made as a stock item, but they could be made again to order.  The same design could also be made with alternative stones or beads.
