Silver molten pebble pendant

Classical and contemporary Sterling silver pendant with a large nugget, or pebble, of solid molten Sterling silver which hangs from a small looped bail on a Sterling silver snake chain.

I've always had a personal love for simple and uncluttered pieces with minimal lines - but such designs need to be done well - your workmanship has nowhere to hide.

The core feature of the pendant is a substantial molten pebble of solid Sterling silver. The melting process has given rise to a delicate hint of reticulation on the surface. Reticulation is a surface wrinkle created by repeatedly heating to almost melting point and then rapidly cooling silver, which causes unpredictable and gorgeous textures on the surface. I've chosen to polish them to a shine without smoothing out the texture. But the profile is smooth other than the surface texture.

The pebble hangs from a simple polished round hammered loop bail, attached to the back of the nugget with a decorative hammered curl, the eye of which is large enough to allow it to be worn on different chains or thongs. The pendant and bail have smooth classical polished lines. I have one myself the same and it's comfortable to wear and a classical, contemporary piece that will go with anything.

It hangs 15mm (0.6") overall from the Sterling silver snake chain and the pebble is approximately 10mm (0.4") wide. The pendant comes with a good quality Sterling silver snake chain and can be supplied either 16" (406mm) or 18" (458mm) long, please advise which you would prefer.
