Hammered copper earrings with turquoise dangles

These sweet little rustic earrings are entirely hand crafted in copper and feature a drop of real turquoise on each.

Each earring features a little flat antiqued paddle of copper that has been hammered for shape and texture and the edges rounded and polished for comfort in wear. They have been drilled to hang on the earwires. Then they have been fully oxidised. Once black, they were extensively tumble polished to give the oxidised copper a lovely gunmetal sheen and the proud edges polished off slightly to bring out warm copper highlights and show the pattern of the hammered texture.

Each paddle has been fronted with small turquoise dangles on rosy copper and antiqued headpins. The earrings have been antiqued rather coarsely for a rustic feel.

They started life as about 250mm (10") of copper wire and 2 beads. They measure 25mm (1") from the top of the hand formed earwires, which have been hammered and tumbled for strength and the ends rounded for your comfort. They hang around 6mm (¼") wide in wear.
