Goldstone and dark copper chained necklace

A dark and warm toned copper chain necklace featuring gorgeously sparkly goldstone beads at the end of oxidised copper chain dangles.

Goldstone is a manufactured semi precious gemstone which is predominantly clear glass with inclusions of copper salts that give it the coppery brown colour and the sparkle from the trapped crystals.

I've wire wrapped a number of goldstone beads onto my own hand made copper balled headpins at the end of assorted lengths of copper chain. The chains hang from a double wrapped loop of heavy gauge copper wire with another stone in the middle. This links directly to the necklace chain, which fastens at the back with a hand formed copper hook and loop fastening.

The piece has been oxidised to black, then highlights polished back to reveal touches of copper, giving an overall antiqued look.

The necklace section of chain is 475mm (18¾") overall in length, but can easily be shortened. If you'd like it longer, I'd need to break it with another wrapped loop and stone in order to add a piece. After I made it, I wondered if it might look better longer, so would be happy to do this for a modest supplement. I could also make earrings to match.

The central dangle of chains drops 85mm (3.3") overall below the necklace and the goldstone beads are each 6mm (¼") in diameter.

This item has sold, but a similar one could be made to order.
